About the Farm

This coffee farmers’ story begins in Mbuye Sector, Ruhango District, in Rwanda’s beautiful Southern Province. Here, the farmers grow 100% Red Bourbon Arabica coffee, known for its rich flavor and quality. Their journey with coffee is a mix of tradition and new ideas. Recently, they took part in training sessions that taught them the best ways to care for their coffee trees and how to protect them from pests and diseases. These lessons helped them learn how to grow healthy coffee plants and produce a better harvest.
A strong partnership between these farmers and the Tropic Coffee Washing Station has been key to their success. Together, they have worked hard to produce coffee that not only makes their community proud but also shows what can be achieved through teamwork, learning, and dedication. The farmers take great care in every step, from planting to harvesting, always aiming for the best. Their commitment to quality has also been recognized through Gisanga Coffee’s back-to-back wins in the Best of Rwanda (BOR) competition in 2024 and 2025.
Thanks to their hard work and smart practices, the farmers now earn a good income that helps support their families. This financial progress allows them to meet daily needs and plan for the future with hope. One practical benefit they enjoy is having motorcycles to transport their coffee cherries easily to the washing station, saving time and effort.
The story of these farms and fellow farmers is one of growth, learning, and the pursuit of excellence. Their coffee is more than just a crop it’s a symbol of their dreams and determination, rooted deeply in the fertile lands of Rwanda’s coffee region. Through their shared vision, they continue to build a brighter future for themselves and their community.
