Producer Story:
Introducing Nkora Coffee, a premier Arabica Bourbon variety
cultivated in the fertile lands of Mushonyi, Rutsiro in Rwanda's
Western Province. Grown at an altitude of 1,490-1,800 meters above
sea level, our coffee benefits from the unique terroir of volcanic
soil, ample rainfall, and the strategic location on the shores of
Lake Kivu. This environment imparts a distinct flavor profile
characterized by caramel and Honey Aroma ,nice acidity, smooth body
,juicy flavour and honey finish. Nkora Coffee is nurtured with
meticulous care from plantation to harvest. We employ sustainable
farming practices, using organic fertilizer derived from coffee
waste and maintaining soil moisture with grass mulching.
Additionally, banana trees are intercropped to provide natural
shade, protecting our coffee plants from excessive sun.
Our coffee is harvested with precision and transported to the
processing facility within six hours to preserve its freshness. At
the Nkora Coffee Washing Station, the largest and longest-running
in Rwanda, each batch undergoes rigorous sorting to ensure only the
finest quality beans are selected. By keeping each lot separate, we
maintain the unique characteristics of every harvest. Nkora Coffee
embodies the perfect blend of tradition, sustainable farming, and
exceptional quality, making it a standout choice for coffee
connoisseurs worldwide. Join us in celebrating this exquisite
coffee at the upcoming auction, where you can experience the
passion and dedication that goes into every cup.
Dismas Mpirimbanyi, a dedicated farmer in Rutsiro District, grew
up in a coffee farming family. Inspired by his father's ability to
support their family through coffee farming, Dismas embraced the
same path. His children attended the Nkora nursery school, and the
income from coffee farming has allowed him to provide for his
family. Dismas is committed to using organic manure to maintain the
quality of the coffee. Seeing people around the world enjoy the
fruits of his labor motivates him to work harder and inspire others
in his community to join the coffee industry.
