Busanze CWS

Impexcor Ltd

15/05/2026

Here is a simple look at why the method used by Impexcor Ltd Busanze is excellent for making high-quality Anaerobic coffee:
Tree Age (10–15 years): Trees at this age are strong. They make sweeter coffee cherries, which gives the coffee a better taste.
Bringing the cherries to the station before 3:00 PM to get time of selection of cherries and Using bags that let air move keeps the cherries fresh until they are processed. Taking out bad or green cherries by hand means only the best, sweetest cherries are used.
Greenport Bags: These special airtight bags are great because they completely block out oxygen. This starts the anaerobic process perfectly.
A Splash of Water (¼ Liter): This small amount of water creates a little moisture. It helps the sugars start changing into flavor right away without washing them away and keeping the bags closed for 3 days in a warm, covered place
Drying Strategy: Spreading them out thin at first stops mould. Gathering them closer later protects them from drying out too fast.
30 Days of Drying: Taking a full month to dry ensures the coffee dries evenly from the inside out. This helps the coffee stay fresh in storage for a longer time.

About the Farm

The Story of Alexis Munyempuhwe
The lead farmer representing the others is named Alexis Munyempuhwe. He is 26 years old and lives in Kabavomo Village, Nteko Cell, Busanze Sector, Nyaruguru District, in the Southern Province of Rwanda.
Alexis grew up loving coffee. When he was just 16 years old, he started growing his own coffee while still going to school. He began loving coffee because he saw his neighbors making good money every harvest season.
Today, Alexis owns 650 coffee trees at different ages. He entered the coffee competition last year but did not win. However, if he wins this time, it will give him the energy to grow his farm and plant more coffee. It will also inspire other farmers to learn from him.
Alexis is still very young. Impexcor Ltd focuses heavily on empowering young people like him because they are the future of coffee farming. His coffee trees produce a great harvest every year because he takes excellent care of them. He uses mulch, organic animal manure, and factory fertilizers to keep his farm healthy. In addition, Alexis has been able to improve his life through coffee farming. He now owns his own motorcycle, which he bought using money from coffee farming. In 2025, he harvested more than 1,300 kg of coffee and saved the money he earned at SACCO. This year, he harvested nearly 1,500 kg. By adding this income to his savings, he was able to buy his own motorcycle without taking a loan.
We are very happy and proud of the progress Alexis continues to make. We will continue to support and stay close to him as he works to improve his life through coffee farming.
