Lot 3-5A1 / Lot No. 1 consists of Arabica coffee harvested from the farms of coffee farmers located in Mukimba, Karama Sector, Huye District. The coffee is produced in well-managed fields where farmers follow good agricultural practices. The farms are regularly monitored and managed to minimize pest and disease infestation. The coffee cherries were harvested selectively, with only fully ripe cherries being picked. Clean and designated harvesting equipment was used to ensure the quality and safety of the coffee. After harvesting, the cherries were delivered to the wet mill and processed promptly and properly using the fully washed processing method. The coffee was dried on designated, clean drying beds under appropriate conditions. The coffee was carefully monitored during drying until it reached the required moisture content of 12%. We ensure full traceability of the coffee lot, including its origin, processing activities, and handling.

About the Farm
My name is BAGIRISHYA Anathalie, and I am a coffee farmer and member of the ABAHUZAMUGAMBI BA KAWA MARABA Cooperative in Huye District. I have 1,750 coffee trees, and through coffee farming, I have been able to improve my life and become more economically independent. I raise cows and small livestock, which provide manure that I use as organic fertilizer in my coffee fields. This helps me maintain healthy coffee trees and achieve better yields and quality. Coffee farming has transformed my life in many ways. Through the women’s coffee farming groups in our community, I gained confidence, courage, and leadership skills. This experience encouraged me to take on a leadership role, and I am now a member of the Cooperative Executive Committee. The income I earn from coffee has enabled me to pay for my children’s education, purchase land and forest, support my children when they got married, and build a better home. In the past, I lived in poor housing, but today I have a decent house with electricity and good water. These achievements have given me and my family a greater sense of dignity and security. Coffee farming has also allowed me to create employment opportunities for people in my community. Since I cannot manage all my coffee farms by myself, I hire neighbors to help with different farm activities. In this way, coffee farming not only supports my family but also provides income-generating opportunities for other people. Coffee has given me the opportunity to become self-reliant, support my family, participate in leadership, and contribute to the development of my community.
