Farm details
Producer Story:
Marc Bahemukiyiki, a dedicated coffee farmer of 56 years old,
lives in the Western Province, in Rutsiro district. With 4,000
coffee trees adorning his land, Marc's life revolved around the
gentle rhythms of nurturing his cherished crop. Since 1985, Marc
had faced the challenges of volatile coffee markets. However, his
fortunes changed when he joined COOPAC. Through its guidance and
training, Marc learned advanced farming techniques that elevated
his coffee to new heights of quality. His commitment to organic
farming practices earned him certification, further distinguishing
his beans in the market.
Marc's dedication bore fruits in more ways than one. His coffee,
now known for its rich flavor and eco-friendly cultivation, found
eager buyers both locally and internationally. As a token of
appreciation for his hard work, COOPAC rewarded Marc with a cow and
a motor bike. The cow provided additional income through milk
production, as well as better nourishment for his family while the
bike enabled Marc to navigate the challenging terrain of his farm
with ease.
With his wife and five children, Marc's journey is not just about
farming; it is a testament to resilience, community support, and
the rewards of sustainable agriculture in Rwanda's
picturesque countryside.
