Muhondo Coffee

This enticing coffee lot was produced by farmers represented by Gatera Olivier, dedicated farmers in the Northern Province of Rwanda, at an altitude ranging from 1,850 to 2,200 meters above sea level. Processed by Muhondo Coffee Company Ltd, this coffee from the Muhondo washing station reflects a passion for innovation and quality. The lot underwent an anaerobic natural process, a meticulous method where coffee cherries are fermented in an oxygen-free environment before drying, enhancing its complexity and depth. This technique yields a vibrant cup with bold notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, and spiced plum. Grown in the fertile volcanic soils of Gakenke and certified C.A.F.E Practice, this Red Bourbon lot embodies the essence of Rwandan specialty coffee—showcasing the region’s unique terroir and the expertise of its farmer and producer.

Cupping notes: A rich and aromatic coffee with notes of orange, raisins, and cacao nib, balanced by sweet honey, spice, and chocolate. Juicy with a long, bright citric finish and hints of whiskey, sugarcane, and tangerine. The silky mouthfeel complements aromas of blueberry, strawberry jam, and coffee blossom, evolving to floral and white pepper tones as it cools. Super clean and transparent with a sweet, lingering Black Forest honey finish.
