Producer Story:
K ORGANICS is a family-owned organic coffee estate located in Huye District, Rwanda. Established with a vision to produce high-quality coffee through sustainable and regenerative practices, the estate spans 30 hectares, 25 of which are planted with Arabica coffee. At the heart of K ORGANICS is a deep respect for nature, community, and craftsmanship. Our team cares for more than 70,000 coffee trees, intercropped with fruit and shade trees, nitrogen-fixing cover crops, and natural windbreaks. The estate avoids chemical inputs entirely, relying instead on on-site composting, mulching, and organic pest control using plants grown at the estate. The RAB C15 variety, known for its productivity and disease resistance, thrives in our agroecological system. It is irrigated using pure spring water sourced directly from the surrounding mountains, ensuring the coffee trees stay healthy and productive during dry spells. While typically selected for its robustness, at K ORGANICS we’ve focused on unlocking its full flavor potential through meticulous cherry picking and sorting, careful processing and terroir expression. This lot was processed as a Natural Anaerobic to enhance its complexity. Behind K ORGANICS is a dedicated team of skilled staff members who care about coffee and strive for excellence. We view coffee not only as a product but as a vehicle for environmental regeneration and rural transformation. Our participation in Best of Rwanda is a testament to the progress organic coffee can achieve when guided by care, science, and heart.
