Baho Coffee

Bweyeye CWS

001/2025

BAHO Coffee Company Ltd produces premium coffee at the Bweyeye Coffee Washing Station in Rusizi District, Rwanda, located between 1600–2000 meters above sea level. The region's cool climate, influenced by the nearby Nyungwe Forest, helps create ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. The coffee is processed using the Normal Natural method, where ripe cherries are harvested, sorted, and dried with the pulp intact. This careful process enhances the coffee's flavor. BAHO Coffee oversees every stage, from providing seedlings to farmers to ensuring proper care during harvest and drying. The company’s close supervision guarantees that only the best cherries make it to the washing station, resulting in exceptional coffee quality and taste.

Cupping notes: A very clear and elegant coffee, with bright black currant, floral, and rose notes alongside a sweet tomato umami character. Vibrant mandarin and orange highlight a clean, consistent cup with a smooth body and juicy yellow and orange fruits. Flavors of sugarcane, brown sugar, tamarind, apricot, and peach provide complexity, finishing with lingering sweetness, abundant berries, and a subtle umami touch.

About the Farm

This is a very good coffee processed by BAHO COFFEE COMPANY LTD at the Bweyeye coffee washing station. It is grown in the highlands between 1600–2000 meters above sea level, located in the Western Province of Rusizi District, in the Bweyeye Sector, which consists of the villages of Rasano, Murwa, Kiyabo, Gikungu, and Nyamuzi. The quality and the humidity of the climate in Bweyeye are what make it produce excellent, flavorful coffee.
This coffee, with its high quality and flavor, is processed from the harvests of ten farmers from the Rusizi District, specifically from the Bweyeye Sector and the aforementioned villages. These farmers are represented by one farmer named HAKIZAMUNGU Elizaphan, along with nine others: UWIMANA Vianne, NDAGIJIMANA Emmanuel, NDAYISHIMIYE Vedaste, HITIMANA JMV, BAKUNDUKIZE Venuste, RWAGASANA Adeodatus, BITI Gervais, and MURWANASHYAKA Felecien. They are the ones who supply the cherries to the Baho-Bweyeye Coffee Washing Station for processing.
The high quality of the Bweyeye coffee originates from the cooperation between BAHO COFFEE COMPANY LTD and the farmers. From cultivation to processing and drying, each stage is done in a region blessed with unique conditions that you won’t find elsewhere. This area is surrounded by the Nyungwe rainforest, which contributes to the special climate with high humidity. This is what makes our coffee grow, thrive, and get processed in an exceptional environment, giving it incredible quality and flavor, both in Rwanda and internationally.
